Senior Spotlight: Alize Galvan

The Buena Vista Longhorns delivered an outstanding performance at the District 10 tennis tournament, capturing both the boys and girls district championships in an impressive all-around team effort. Leading the way in boys singles, Luke Fierro claimed the district title, while teammate Nathyn Everett added a solid 4th place finish. On the girls side, Adriana Garcia battled her way to a 4th place finish in singles competition. The Longhorns dominated in doubles play, highlighted by Froyd Malagon and Gio Colunga earning the boys doubles championship. Tyler Rogers and Frankie Malagon contributed with a strong 3rd place finish. In girls doubles, Genova Sanchez and Andrea Garcia secured 2nd place, while Italia Cortez and Kimber Alford finished 4th. Mixed doubles was another big success for Buena Vista, as Wyatt Ivey and Diamond Salazar captured the district championship, and teammates Shawn Perkins and Aleah Carrasco finished as runners-up. With multiple top finishes across all divisions, Buena Vista proved their depth and talent, securing both boys and girls district titles. The Longhorns will now send all 1st and 2nd place finishers on to the regional tournament scheduled for April 20–21.

District Champs!!! 🏆⛳️ The Girls Golf team brought it home and claimed the District Championship, and a huge shoutout to Vendy for winning the tournament individually! So proud of this group and all their hard work! On to the next round!

Huge congrats to the Buena Vista boys golf team! They placed 2nd as a team at the District Golf Tournament today and are advancing to Regionals! Way to represent and keep the season going strong!

It’s a busy (and short!) week at BV! There will be no school on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. Check out what’s happening:

The Buena Vista Longhorns turned in a strong performance at the Sanderson Tennis Invitational, earning multiple top finishes across divisions. In boys singles, Luke Fierro battled his way to a 3rd place finish, while the doubles team of Gio Colunga and Froyd Malagon also secured 3rd place in boys doubles. In mixed doubles action, Wyatt Ivey and Diamond Salazar claimed 3rd place, with teammates Shawn Perkins and Aleah Carrasco finishing close behind in 4th place. Leading the way for the Longhorns, Genova Sanchez and Andrea Garcia captured the championship in girls doubles, helping the girls team earn co-tournament champion honors. Overall, it was a well-rounded and competitive showing for Buena Vista.
