Happy Thursday Longhorn Nation! I wanted to reach out and let you know the schedule for summer school. Here is the schedule:
May 30 - June 2 (Tuesday through Friday) - 7:45-12:15
June 5 - June 22 (Monday through Thursday) - 7:45-12:15
Also, I would like to announce that we will be serving free breakfast for all students attending summer school and all students that live in the BVISD district boundaries. This is for students ages 0-18. Breakfast will be from 7:45 - 8:15.

Longhorn Nation, we will be hosting a TSI test day at BVISD on Tuesday May 30th. This is open to all 8th - 11th grade students from the 2022-2023 school year. Please report to the school by 9:30 AM. This will allow us to gauge students and will open up dual credit opportunities.
Longhorn family. We are saddened with the passing of longtime Longhorn, Dario Dominguez. As more information is made available, we will update you all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Dominguez and family.

Our final Senior Spotlight is Mr. Brendon Rogers. His accomplishments include making to regional track in four events, winning area in basketball, and winning bi-district in football. After high school, Brendon plans to attend the University of Texas - Permian Basin to major in Mechanical Engineering. His favorite memory is playing in San Angelo for regional basketball this year. His advice to future Longhorns is, "Prove people wrong." Congratulations Brendon on your accomplishments while at BVISD. We are proud of you and wish you the best of luck in all future endeavors.


Our next Senior Spotlight is Ms. Kiele Sickler. Her accomplishments while attending BVISD are District all-around MVP, 1st team all district basketball, Academic All-state basketball, Silver Medalist at the 2023 UIL State track meet in high jump, district champ and regional qualifier in track, NHS, grand champion Ag Mechanics, Welding certification AWS-1, and area one act play qualifier. After high school, Kiele plans to attend Angelo State University and major in criminology. Her favorite memory was getting second this year in state in high jump. Her advice to future Longhorns is, "Success is the sum of all efforts repeated day in and day out." Kiele, BVISD congratulates you on a successful time at BVISD. We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.


Our next Senior Spotlight is Ms. Whitney Tarin. Her greatest accomplishments are going to state in choir, qualifying for regional UIL all four years in high school, and swimming at the regional meet. After graduation, Whitney plans to attend Angelo State University and major in biology. Her best memories at BVISD are making new friends and new memories. Her advice to future Longhorns is, "Don't be late to class and do not skip school." Congratulations Whitney on this accomplishment. BVISD is proud of you and wishes you the best in the future.


Our next Senior Spotlight is Mr. Bradyn Huertas. His greatest accomplishment is being named to the sixman all star game this summer. After high school, Bradyn plans to attend the University of Texas - Permian Basin. His favorite memories from BVISD are going to basketball tournaments. His advice for future Longhorns is, "Do not stop believing in yourself." Congratulations Bradyn on graduation! Buena Vista ISD is proud of you, and we wish you success in your future.


Our next Senior Spotlight is Mr. Dillon Balderaz. His greatest accomplishment in high school is being able to graduate. After high school, Dillon plans to go into the work force. His favorite memory at BVISD is not holding up one, but two trophies in football. His advice to future Longhorns is, "Enjoy your time in school and have fun." Congratulations on graduation Dillon. BVISD is proud of who you have become and wish you the best in your future.


Our next Senior Spotlight is Mr. James Tinkler. His accomplishments during high school are graduating and playing football. After high school, James plans to attend college at Sul Ross. His favorite memory at BVISD is winning in the first round of the playoffs in football. His advice to future Longhorns is, "Go to school." Congratulations James on reaching this milestone in your life! BVISD is proud of your hard work, and we look forward to what great things you will do in the future.


Now in the senior spotlight is Ms. Madison Martin. Her greatest accomplishments in high school are being an NHS member and being in one act play. After high school, Madison plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University and major in dentistry. Her favorite memory is having water balloon fights with her class. Her advice for future Longhorns is "Just be yourself and everything will be okay." Congratulations Madison! BVISD is so proud of you. Good luck in your future endeavors.


Our next Senior Spotlight is Ms. Clarissa Martinez. Her accomplishments during high school are qualifying for regional track, NHS, 1st team all district volleyball, Honorable mention all star cast at regional and area One act play. After high school, Clarissa plans on attending Angelo State to become a Cardiologist. Her favorite memory is when Mr. Dominguez got us in trouble and made us write an essay everyday for a week. Her advice to future Longhorns is "Do not fear failure, but rather fear not trying." BVISD congratulates you Clarissa. You will do great things in the future!


Our next Senior Spotlight is Mr. Jadyn Huertas. His accomplishments during high school are being a three time regional qualifier in track, three time regional qualifier in tennis, being named 2nd team all-state cornerback, and three time 1st team all-district basketball player. After high school, Jadyn plans on attending the University of Texas Permian Basin and studying kinesiology. His favorite memory at BVISD is making it to the third round in basketball. His advice for future Longhorns is "Keep pushing towards your goals, and you will reach them." Congratulation Jadyn! BVISD knows you have a bright future ahead of you!


Our next senior spotlight is Ms. Lizeth Ulloa. Her greatest accomplishments while at BVISD were making state in UIL spelling three years, NHS secretary, going to regionals for powerlifting, and being named to the All-State Elite Team. After high school, Lizeth plans on attending Midland College to pursue a career as a cosmetologist. Her favorite memory was during the NHS trip when Madison lost her shoe getting off a ride, and then they ended up mailing Madison her shoe. Her advice for future Longhorn, "Believe it when people say that it goes by faster than you think. Enjoy it while it lasts." Congratulations Lizeth! BVISD is thankful for all you have done, and we are looking forward to what the future has in store for you!


The next Senior Spotlight is Hailey Adriana Duarte Torres. Her greatest accomplishment is after hurting her knee begin able to make it farther than she thought she could. After high school, Hailey plans to attend Midland College to finish her basics and transfer to Angelo State University. Her favorite memory from BVISD was in junior high when she ran the relays, because being the last leg felt amazing. Her advice for future Longhorns, "Never give up on your goals, because you never know how far you can go." Congratulations Hailey! Buena Vista is very proud of you! Good luck on your next adventure.


Senior Spotlight is on Ms. Crystal Branham. During her time at BVISD her, her accomplishments have been qualifying for regional track in pole vault, area champion in pole vault, regional qualifier in UIL academics, being a member of an advancing one act play, being named all state first team in powerlifting, NHS member, NHS President, third in district in tennis, and being a published author in the American Library of Poetry 2022. After high school, Crystal plans to attend Howard College in Big Spring and earn an Associate's degree in Psychology. She then plans on transferring to a university and becoming a Forensic Psychologist. Her favorite memory from BVISD was during her senior year when the game ball for a football game was delivered by helicopter. Her advice to future Longhorns is 'If you are going to college, make sure you know what classes you need (or don't). Live your life; high school does not define you. You are not always gonna stay friends and that is okay." Congratulations Crystal! Buena Vista ISD is proud of all that you have done. You will be successful in your endeavors!
