Senior Spotlight: Maria Fernanda Ortiz Mandujano

The Buena Vista Longhorns junior high tennis teams put together an impressive showing across two tournaments Last week at the Big Lake tournament, Elijah Carrasco and Weston Ivey battled their way to a strong 2nd place finish in boys doubles, while Colton Dietz and Analia Ruiz claimed the consolation championship in mixed doubles. Bea Fierro added to the team’s success with a 4th place finish in girls singles.
The momentum continued at the Sanderson junior high tournament, where the Longhorns dominated the competition. Bea Fierro captured the girls singles championship, and Colton Dietz earned the boys singles title. In doubles action, Haiden Mehan and Paris Cortez brought home the girls doubles championship, while Weston Ivey and Elijah Carrasco secured another title in boys doubles.
The Longhorns now turn their focus to the district tournament, set for May 5th in Imperial, with matches beginning at 3:45 p.m.




Our students represented Buena Vista proudly at the UIL Academic Regional Meet in San Angelo!
The Spelling team earned 1st Place Overall with Bryan placing 1st individually, Genova 5th, and Alex 7th. Jonathan also brought home 2nd Place in Ready Writing.
In Literary Criticism, the team earned 3rd Place Overall, with Eli placing 5th individually. Congratulations to all of these students on their hard work and outstanding accomplishments!
