The Buena Vista Longhorns turned in a strong performance at the Sanderson Tennis Invitational, earning multiple top finishes across divisions. In boys singles, Luke Fierro battled his way to a 3rd place finish, while the doubles team of Gio Colunga and Froyd Malagon also secured 3rd place in boys doubles. In mixed doubles action, Wyatt Ivey and Diamond Salazar claimed 3rd place, with teammates Shawn Perkins and Aleah Carrasco finishing close behind in 4th place. Leading the way for the Longhorns, Genova Sanchez and Andrea Garcia captured the championship in girls doubles, helping the girls team earn co-tournament champion honors. Overall, it was a well-rounded and competitive showing for Buena Vista.

The Buena Vista Longhorns competed hard at the Wink Junior High tennis tournament, bringing home several strong finishes across multiple divisions. In 8th grade girls singles, Bea Fierro led the way with a 2nd place finish, while the 8th grade mixed doubles team of Colton Dietz and Analia Ruiz also earned 2nd place honors. At the 7th grade level, Elijah Colunga and Ayden Miranda secured 3rd place in boys doubles, and Gaby Ramirez and Angel Ruiz added another 3rd place finish in mixed doubles. Rounding out the day, the 7th grade boys team delivered a strong overall performance, finishing as tournament runner-ups.

At the BV Tennis Tournament on March 19, 2026, the Longhorns delivered an outstanding performance across the board. In girls singles, Adriana Garcia earned an impressive 4th place finish, while Luke Fierro claimed the boys singles championship title. In boys doubles, Froyd Malagon and Gio Colunga took 2nd place, and Frankie Malagon with Nathyn Everett secured 4th. The girls doubles team of Genova Sanchez and Andrea Garcia dominated to become champions, while Nataly Everett and Nariah Wall finished strong in 4th place. In mixed doubles, Wyatt Ivey and Diamond Salazar captured the championship, and Shawn Perkins with Kimber Alford added to the success with a 3rd place finish. Capping off an incredible day, the Longhorns were crowned both boys and girls team champions, as well as the overall tournament champions.

At the Reagan County JV Tennis Tournament, several athletes delivered championship performances, helping lead the Longhorns to the overall team title. In boys singles, Luke Fierro captured the championship with a strong performance throughout the tournament. The boys doubles title was claimed by Gio Colunga and Froyd Malagon, who worked well together to secure the victory. In girls doubles, Genova Sanchez and Andrea Garcia won the championship after an impressive run through their bracket. The mixed doubles division was won by Wyatt Ivey and Diamond Salazar, whose strong teamwork and consistency earned them the title. Their outstanding performances helped the Longhorns secure the overall tournament championship.
