This coming Wednesday, August 13, we will have Meet the Teacher at 6:45 p.m. following Ribbon Cutting at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to both. Those that do not have children in the system, may get an inclusive tour with the Superintendent following the brief Ribbon Cutting.

Today we welcomed our amazing teachers and staff back to campus for the first official day of the 2025–2026 school year! Our staff also had the exciting opportunity to explore their brand-new classroom spaces for the very first time!

House Bill 1481 (revision of Texas Education Code 37.082), recently passed by the 89th Texas Legislature and signed into law by the Governor, requires all public school districts in Texas to adopt a policy prohibiting the use of personal communication devices during school hours. In alignment with this law, Buena Vista ISD has established clear expectations and procedures to ensure a focused and distraction-free learning environment for all students.
6th - 12th grade Students will be allowed to bring their cell phones on the school bus and will be allowed to use them after school ; however, during the school day (7:30a.m. - 3:45p.m), all electronic communication devices will be required to be locked away securely. More information will be available as we get closer to the time to start school. Until then we hope parents will take this opportunity to talk to their students about this new policy.
